This website allows you to click anywhere on the map and it will tell you what the Grid Square, CQ Zone, and ITU Zone is. On the top right-hand side (Options), you can also choose to see the zone boundaries.

The boundaries of CQ zones 12, 13, 29, 30, 32, 38 and 39 converge at the South Pole. Stations KC4AAA and KC4USN are at the South Pole, and will count for any one of the listed zones. Most Antarctic stations indicate their zone on the QSL card.
Some contests use them as an identifier of where you are, the most notable being the ITU number used in the IARU competition in July, and the CQ Zones are used by various competitions, usually those sponsored by CQ Magazine.
In amateur radio circles you often come across references to CQ Zone numbers and ITU Zone numbers. Every point on the globe has one of each. Either or both types of zone number are frequently seen on the QSL cards that hams use to confirm contacts.
