During his studies at Harvard, he developed an interest in modern poetry, which ignored conventional grammar and syntax and aimed for a dynamic use of language. His first published poems appeared in Eight Harvard Poets (1917). Upon graduating, he worked for a book dealer.
E. E. Cummings - Edward Estlin Cummings is known for his radical experimentation with form, punctuation, spelling, and syntax; he abandoned traditional techniques and structures to create a new, highly idiosyncratic means of poetic expression.
E.E. Cummings may be most remembered for his gleeful love poems with their sensuous use of language and his visual inventiveness and Modernist style. He was a highly innovative writer and painter, who borrowed concepts from the world of Modernist painting and sculpture to influence his poems.
