EXORCIST II: THE HERETIC has been considered one of the worst movies ever made since it's first screening. The stories behind the opening day and weeks of this movie have become legendary and even though the movie made money for Warner, the studio was still highly embarrassed by it and the following decades haven't been kind to the picture.

Visually, it's fascinating—sort of a blend of Minnellian baroque and Buñuelian absurdity—but the dialogue is childish, the story is incomprehensible, and the metaphysics are ridiculous.
