Filmways was a television and film production company incorporated in 1958. They were best known for producing many of the CBS rural comedies of the 1960s. In 1982, Filmways was acquired by Orion Pictures and reorganized as Orion Pictures Corporation soon afterwards.
Filmways started making TV commercials, moved into documentaries, then sitcoms; by 1963 Filmways was making $13 million a year. Mister Ed and The Beverly Hillbillies brought Ransohoff his first successes in 1960 and 1962.
On the 1962 to 1964 seasons of The Beverly Hillbillies and Petticoat Junction, the Filmways logo would fade to the text "Produced in association with the CBS TELEVISION NETWORK " and has the Seal of Good Practice near the text. The clouds are flying to the left direction.
