Description. The Fossa is a unique and fascinating creature, often mistaken for a small cougar or large mongoose due to its appearance. It has a slender body that measures about 24 to 32 inches (61 to 81 cm) in length, with a tail almost as long as its body, adding another 22 to 28 inches (56 to 71 cm).
