SCORING. Scoring in Gin Rummy happens at the end of each round and is determined by the difference in deadwood from the players (more on deadwood below). The value of the cards is as follows: Kings/Queens/Jacks – 10 points. 2 – 10 = Face Value. Ace = 1 point. In Gin Rummy points are scored after each hand or round.

The typical scores for each are shown below: Undercut: 10 points; Gin: 30 points; Big Gin: 50 points; Apart from the bonuses, deadwood value is considered.
KEEPING SCORE. The game ends when one player has a score of 100 points or more. If a player scores "Gin" they earn 20 points plus the value of their opponents unmatched cards. If they "Knock" to win instead, they score the difference in the value of their unmatched cards with those of their opponent.
