Harold Gregory "Hal" Moore Jr. (February 13, 1922 – February 10, 2017) was a lieutenant general in the United States Army. He was also an author. Moore was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross, which is the second highest military honor of the United States Army. Moore was born in Bardstown, Kentucky.
