The Boulder Field appears striking because of its flatness and absence vegetation over the large area of 400 feet by 1,800 feet. Some of the boulders measure as much as 26 feet long. Boulder Field can be reached by car and has an overlook of the landscape adjacent to the parking lot.
The most notable feature of Hickory Run State Park is the huge boulder field located in the northeast corner of the park. The field can be reached by car on Boulder Field Road or by hiking the 3.5-mile (5.6 km) long Boulder Field Trail from the trailhead on SR 534.

Fun place for active kids. It’s a 4 mile dirt road to get to the boulder field. It’s pretty cool, awe inspiring, to come across this field in the middle of a forest. I was with a 8 & 9 year old who scrambled out way quicker than I could.
Dec 11, 2020 · Boulder Field is easily found following signs in Hickory Run State Park and has its own parking lot. Boulder Field is a small piece of landscape leftover from the last ice advance thousands of years ago. It covers an area of 400 feet wide by 1,800 feet long and about 10 feet deep.
