Hay and Povlsen first met on a job furnishing a house. Chance, luck or destiny? Povlsen liked Rolf Hay's interior design ideas so much that he was determined to establish a furniture brand with him. In 2002, they founded the company HAY in Horsens, Denmark. Just one year later, the first HAY furniture collection was presented at IMM in Cologne.
