Jan 17, 2024 · Applying for your VA education benefits can be done in just a few steps: Apply online. Visit your nearest VA regional office to apply in person. Consult with the VA Certifying Official—who is usually in the Registrar’s or Financial Aid office—at the school of your choice.
Review GI Bill eligibility requirements to find out if you can get help paying for school or training. You can also find out if you qualify for other VA education benefits as a Veteran, service member, Reservist, National Guard Soldier, or qualified survivor or dependent.
Find out if you can get help paying for school or job training through the Post-9/11 GI Bill (Chapter 33). You may qualify if you served on active duty after September 10, 2001, or if you’re the qualified spouse or dependent child of a Veteran who meets these service requirements.
