May 12, 2022 · This is a deleted scene from Roger Corman's 1980 cult classic "Humanoids from the Deep" that was never seen by the public. The footage was found in the archives while doing a recent Blu-Ray restoration and was added as an "extra" on the Blu-Ray disk.

Both the 1986 UK VHS version & the current US DVD version are missing a small scene during the carnival massacre where a man has his head torn off which was presumably removed from the US theatrical release to avoid a "X" rating. This was intact in the original UK cinema print.

Humanoids from the Deep is a 1980s updating of similarly plotted genre films made in the 1950s and 1960s— Del Tenney's The Horror of Party Beach (1964) in particular—with the addition of graphic violence and nudity.
The often-silent deleted scenes are likely mostly from the reshoots as they are mainly more nude attacks. Two commentaries – one by Kim Newman and Sean Hogan and an infectious chat-track from Samm Deighan – are incredibly informative and well worth a listen.
