Feb 20, 2017 · That night, Jacinta died in her hospital bed while under the care of a nurse. The date was February 20th, 1920. Pope St. John Paul II beatified Francisco and Jacinta on the 83rd anniversary of the first apparition of Our Lady at Fatima.
Today is the 104th anniversary of the death of Jacinta Marto, the youngest of the three shepherd children to whom Our Lady of Fatima appeared in 1917. As Our Lady had promised, Jacinta and her brother Francisco were taken to Heaven very soon after the time of those apparitions.
Bl. Jacinta Marto was born in Aljustrel on 11 March 1910. After a long and painful illness she died a holy death on 20 February 1920 in Lisbon, offering all her sufferings for the conversion of sinners, for peace in the world and for the Holy Father.
She died Feb. 20, 1920. Pope John Paul II beatified Francisco and Jacinta May 13, 2000, on the 83rd anniversary of the first apparition of Our Lady at Fatima.
Through graces received and the help of the Virgin Mary, Jacinta was fervent in her love of God and her desire for souls. She died a holy death on February 20, 1920. Her body is buried next to Francisco in the basilica of Fatima.
