Creation
Following Batman: Endgame, both Batman and the Joker were seemingly killed with Batman having died saving the city from a virus released by the Joker that targeted neurochemistry. Following this, Powers Tech (headed by Geraldine "Geri" Powers) decided to fund a city-run task-force inspired by The Batman's legacy. Powers created a behemoth mech-suit modeled after The Batman which would be used by a GCPD officer whose identity would be kept a secret. The moniker was inevitably given to former commissioner James "Jim" Gordon who had lost his job after getting mind-controlled into killing civilians in the subway.
Dec 30, 2015 · As Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo’s Joker epic “Endgame” wound down, DC released an image of Batman’s new robotic suit. With no explanation given, conjecture and disbelief ran wild. Why would Batman need an enhanced suit?
