    Smith graduated from George Brown Theatre School in 1994.

    He served as president of Toronto-based Theatreworks Productions and joined The National Theatre of the World (formerly The National Theatre of Canada) in 2014 as the improvisational theatre company's Production Manager.

    Television work includes F/X: The Series episode "Medea" (1997) as Dixon; Earth: Final Conflict episode "Heroes & Heartbreak" (1999) as Harry Bookman; Mutant X episode "Into the Moonless Night" (2003) as the Scientist; Wonderfalls (2004) as the voice of Muse; Degrassi: The Next Generation episode "Eyes Without a Face: Part 2" (2006) as Adams; Roxy Hunter the Myth of the Mermaid (2008) and Roxy Hunter and the Secret of the Shaman (2008) as Saul Bloomberg; The Prisoner (2009) episode "Harmony" as Number 16; Warehouse 13 as Mr. Keeler (2011-2014).
