As the evidence mounted Brudos was eventually charged with three counts of first degree murder for the murders of Jan Whitney, Linda Salee, and Karen Sprinker. Brudos decides to revoke his plea of NGRI and plead guilty. That same day he is sentenced to 3 consecutive life sentences (no death penalty in Oregon).
Brudos was arrested in June 1969 and subsequently pleaded guilty to three counts of murder in the deaths of Jan Susan Whitney, 23, who disappeared in November 1968; Karen Elena Sprinker, 19, who disappeared in March 1969; and Linda Dawn Salee, who 19, disappeared in April 1969.
Jul 6, 2021 · Brudos' known murder victims are Linda Slawson,19, Linda Salee, 22, Karen Sprinker, 19, and Jan Whitney, 23. According to the book "Serial Murderers and Their Victims", Brudos bludgeoned Slawson with a two-by-four. It was her foot that he kept before throwing her into a river.
