Benedict Arnold originally fought for the American side. He was one of the heroes in the American Revolution. When he sided with the British cause, becoming a loyalist, he met with British Officer John Andrè, and attempted to surrender the plans of West Point for Money and the rank of a General in the British Army. Andrè was caught and hung as a spy, and Arnold escaped to the British Side.
