Biography. My work is centered on Indian Buddhism and Buddhist Ethics, with more general interests in other south Asian religious traditions and western Philosophy. I received my PhD from McGill University in 2003, having spent extended stays at institutions in India, Nepal, and Switzerland.

As playwright, songwriter, and producer Martin began work on What the Buddha Never Taught in 2014. A professor of Buddhist Studies at the University of Victoria, his most recent research has focused on Buddhist narrative literature, with a book chapter on that topic recently published by Oxford University Press.
