Over 330,000 people visited the exhibition — an average of more than 2,700 per day — making it the most popular traveling exhibition ever staged by an Australian museum.
On August 24, 79 A.D., the city of Pompeii was frozen in time by the catastrophic eruption of Mount Vesuvius. But what nature destroyed, it also preserved. Through 150 artifacts, POMPEII: The Exhibitiontells the tale of a city hidden from view and forgotten for centuries.

Museum Victoria had planned a major exhibition on Pompeii at the Melbourne Museum called “A Day in Pompeii.” The Museum had created a mini surround-sound cinema and wanted an immersive digital component to the exhibition that was realistic, engaging and would educate and impress the broad exhibition target audience.
The ZERO ONE team presented a number of concepts to Melbourne Museum who settled on telling the story of what happened to the city of Pompeii over a 24 hour period which tied in well with the exhibition’s title.
