Pete Agnew (born 14 September 1946) is a Scottish musician best known as the bassist and backing vocalist for the Scottish rock band Nazareth. Born in Dunfermline, he is the sole continuous member who still is performing with the band, which released its first album Nazareth in 1971, and the last founding member who remains alive.

Nazareth formed in December 1968 in Dunfermline, Scotland. The remaining members of the Shadettes, a semi-professional local group formed in 1961, including vocalist Dan McCafferty, guitarist Manny Charlton, bassist Pete Agnew, and drummer Darrell Sweet started Nazareth. [6] They derived inspiration from The Beatles and The Rolling Stones. [7]
