  1. Zahler's Next Novel. Like everyone else on here, I'm a huge Zahler fan. I've read and seen everything he's put out (Except for the unproduced screenplays, don't want to spoil the end product). That being said I have to say his novels are my favorite, especially the western and noir tales. In a more recent-ish interview he stated his next one is ...

  2. Bone Tomahawk (2015) is one of those movies that keeps coming up in the conversation about good recent westerns and even if there wasn't that one notorious scene it still holds up as a decent slow burn. Great acting by Kurt Russell and Richard Jenkins too. Brawl in Cell Block 99 (2017) is IMHO one of the best prison movies I've ever seen.

But, for a Puppet Master movie, it's the brightest light in that sky. You can tell Zahler had a lot of fun writing the script. Udo Kier is in it too, which is always welcome.

  6. I can't decide if S. Craig Zahler is serious or not. Question. I've recently watched Dragged Across Concrete and Brawl in Cell Block 99 (saw Bone Tomahawk years ago and liked it) and while I'd say I somewhat enjoyed both movies, the writing and dialogue gets really bad in places. I haven't watched any interviews with the director but I am ...
