Season 5 was the first season to move to a new stage and also the last season to use CBS Studios. They did this to promote Season 6when 17-year-old Nathan Trasoras auditioned this season.
Vegas Week
The Vegas callbacks were held at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino. 32 dancers remained after judges made cuts following each round of choreography. The judges were Nigel Lythgoe, Mary Murphy, Mia Michaels, Lil' C, and Adam Shankman, and Debbie Allen.

For season 7, So You Think You Can Dance averaged just over 5 million viewers. After season 7, Mia Michaels was replaced on the judge's panel by returning personality Mary Murphy. The change appeared to have little effect on the ratings, and the show continued to average just over five million viewers per episode in 2011's season 8.
