Solomon Kane is a fictional character featured in several comics published by Marvel Comics between 1973 and 1994. He was originally created by the pulp -era writer Robert E. Howard. Dark Horse Comics began publishing a new series of Kane stories in 2008, and also published collections of the 1970s Marvel stories in 2009.
Solomon Kane was created by Robert E. Howard, creator of Conan and Kull, and first appeared in "Red Shadows" (Weird Tales, 1928). Solomon Kane was under license to Marvel Comics and went over to Dark Horse, like Conan (who eventually returned to Marvel in 2019).
A late-16th-to-early-17th century Puritan, Solomon Kane is a somber-looking man who wanders the world with no apparent goal other than to vanquish evil in all its forms. His adventures, published mostly in the pulp magazine Weird Tales, often take him from Europe to the jungles of Africa and back.
Dressed in black, with a gloomy demeanor and his trademark slouch hat, Solomon Kane carries a versatile 16th century arsenal and wanders the world to vanquish evils he encounters.
