Jul 23, 2022 · I believe Starbucks register's work fine without the barcode and if you do not know the balance you can always ask the barista behind the counter for a balance check and they can do so easily, I don't know how you would be able to use the gift card on the app anymore without the security code but you shouldn't have an issue using it at any Starbucks store

Most likely there is a sticker on the back of the card that is silver with squiggly black lines. That sticker is covering the security code.
