“Creek Canyon”, a river valley located between the cities of Flagstaff and Sedonain northern Arizona, was used for the filming of The Last Wagon. The beautiful natural location was also used by the cast and crew to film a few key scenes of the film. Oak Creek Canyon is famous around the world for its spectacular scenery.
Just north of the village of Oak Creek, Arizona, Bell Rock is an iconic place or ideal filming location in Yavapai County. “Bell Rock“, a rock formation connecting the villages of Sedona and Oak Creek, and its surrounding areas was used by the production team for filming.
Like Bell Rock, Courthouse Batte is also located in Yavapai County, and is composed of horizontally bedded sedimentary rock of the Permian Supai Formation. The location was also one of the filming locations of the film and the cast and crew filmed in and around the location.
Sedona is a desert town in Arizona near Flagstaff surrounded by red-rock buttes, steep canyon walls, and pine forests. Schnebly Hill and Boynton Canyon in the desert were used to film a few key scenes of the film. The Sedona desert was also used to film some scenes of the film.

Apr 30, 2023 · The Last Wagon Filming Locations. A significant part of the film is shot in Arizona, at the mouth of the Oak Creek Canyon and the Schnelby Hill Road. The makers of the film mentioned that they faced quite some trouble in finding the perfect location for some of the classic scenes in the film.
The Last Wagon was filmed on location in Sedona, AZ, at the mouth of Oak Creek Canyon. In an article in the NYT, director Delmer Daves described the difficulty he had in finding a pristine location for the film, as his previous western, Broken Arrow, had popularized the region.
