The historic Castle is Durham University's first and oldest College and used for student accommodation in University term times, but is available as guest accommodation during University vacations; January, Easter and throughout July, August and September.

Most first-year undergraduates live in College accommodation; most second-year students live out in privately owned accommodation; and many of our finalist students return to College for their last year. We have around 220 undergraduate spaces and 45 postgraduate rooms.
