The Breakers Palm Beach is a historic, Renaissance Revival style luxury hotel with 534 rooms. It is located at 1 South County Road in Palm Beach, Florida. The current structure, opened in December 1926, is the third version of The Breakers, as the previous hotel buildings on the site burnt down in 1903 and 1925.

Nov 4, 2021 · Unique facts you may not know: The Breakers was known as The Palm Beach Inn when founder Henry Flagler opened the oceanfront luxury hotel in 1896.
It was a simple and unpretentious hotel overlooking the ocean a quarter-mile from Flagler's luxurious Hotel Royal Poinciana. During an expansion project in 1903, the Palm Beach Inn caught fire and was destroyed. By 1906 it was rebuilt and renamed The Breakers Hotel and opened to universal acclaim.
At the end of the 1925 season, when dreams of endless growth in land values and tourism were at their height, the old hotel burned to the ground. William R. Kenan Jr., the president of the Flagler System’s Florida East Coast Hotel Company, decided to build a new hotel with the New York–based firm Schultze and Weaver.
The Breakers is the brainchild of oil and railroad tycoon Henry Flagler, an icon often credited with giving travelers accessibility to the great unknown that was Florida in the late 1800s.
