To sign up for a YouTube student membership, you must:
• Be enrolled as a student at a higher education institution in a location where YouTube student memberships are offered.
• The higher education institution needs to be SheerID approved. Eligibility of the institution is decided by the SheerID program.
• To check if your school has student plans available:
• Go to the Student Plan landing page for YouTube Premium or YouTube Music Premium.
• Select Try it Free.

You'll get an email informing you of your eligibility status within 20 minutes in the U.S. For all other non-U.S. locations, an email notification may take up to 48 hours.
• If your eligibility is confirmed through the extra verification step, you’ll need to log back into your account. Go to your profile by tapping on your profile picture. Select Paid memberships and you’ll get a notification asking you to finish sign-up using the steps below.
