The three hour-long, small-budget ($23 million) film had twelve nominations and seven overall wins (Best Picture, Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Art Direction, Best Cinematography for Janusz Kaminski, Best Film Editing, and Best Original Score - by John Williams). Surprisingly, the film won no acting awards.
