The Animal Crossing: New Horizons 2.0 Update includes a number of locations like The Roost, activities like cooking and stretching with villagers, new island customization through Island Ordinances, and plenty more. The 2.0 update brings back Brewster's Cafe, also known as The Roost. Brewster is a non-playable pigeon character first introduced in Animal Crossing: Wild World. In New Horizons you'll be able to invite villagers and NPCs using the amiibo Call Center, enjoy a cup of coffee solo and visit with NPCs and villagers like Isabelle when they visit the cafe, too—which will be open 24/7.
The Roost is located in the museum, and although gyroids are returning the game, it's not clear if Brewster will store them as he did in previous versions of Animal Crossing.
Nine brand new villagers and seven returning villagers were revealed as part of the Animal Crossing Amiibo Card Series 5 announcement, which took place during the Animal Crossing Direct on October 15, 2021.

Gone are the days of constantly needing to pull out your Ladder to explore areas that are otherwise blocked by cliffs! Introduced as part of the ACNH 2.0 update, players will be able to obtain an all-new recipe to craft Ladder Set-Up Kits, which will act as a permanent ladder structure that can be placed alongside cliffs.

The 2.0 update will include many new island customization options, including island ordinances. In previous games, island ordinances meant villagers would wake up earlier, go to bed later, and a few other specific actions depending on which ordinance you selected.

Harv's Island is getting a substantial upgrade with the Animal Crossing: New Horizons 2.0 Update. Several shopping spots are joining Harv's photo studio on the faraway island and will offer a variety of services along with a new home for many visiting characters. You'll have to help make the shopping area a reality by contributing Bells for each shop.

Cooking is coming to Animal Crossing New Horizons! The 2.0 update will allow players to grow new crops and harvest them to cook new recipes using kitchenware furniture in your house.
Much like the game previously introduced pumpkins that players could grow, harvest and sell, this update will include many new crops players can use to make the forthcoming recipes. Gyroids, the mysterious little musical furniture creatures, are returning to Animal Crossing: New Horizons! Unlike previous games, it's not enough to simply dig them up. They need to mature overnight to be harvested. This time around, they'll be customizable as well.
As in previous games, gyroids will be more common after it rains. To learn more, check out our Gyroid List and Guide page, which will be updated with all new gyroid as they're discovered.
The 2.0 update for New Horizons will include new furniture and new options for home customization, including ceiling decor and accent walls! It's not clear yet how players will unlock the Pro Decorating License, but that license is how you'll be able to add light fixtures, shelving and more to the ceilings in your home.
