Apr 22, 2021 · Braddock Bay, located on the grounds of Braddock Bay Park, is one of New York State’s two, main spring “hawk watching” areas on the Lake Ontario shore for observing migrating raptors.
Going around The Great Lakes in the spring, there are a couple of really good hawk migration spots to watch. Hawkwatches along the Lake Ontario to the north of us, because the hawks come up and they hit Lake Ontario, and they’ll fly over it, so they go around, and around the corner of those things, the hawks concentrate into large numbers.

Mar 27, 2018 · Viewers can use the hawk watch platform found in Braddock Bay Park, which is owned by State Parks and operated by the Town of Greece. The Braddock Bay Raptor Research (BBRR) has conducted the hawk watch since 1986. To get to Braddock Bay take the Lake Ontario State Parkway until the East Manitou Road/Braddock Bay Park exit.

Figure 2 shows a line of raptors moving along the lake shore, flying over land until they get to Nine Mile Point (the ‘hump’ east of Oswego), where they ‘jump off’ and fly a little distance over the lake, just north of Derby Hill.
