The ending is ambiguous and slightly frustrating. The cinematography is spectacular. All the bit players, especially Rusty and Dot, help create a fine, realistic film.

Subtly and smartly written Blood Stripe is a well-made film that deals with the troublic topic of PTSD both directly and delicately. With an award-worthy, commanding performance from Kate Nowlin and some incredibly breathtaking cinematography from the shores of Lake Vermillion, this is a surprisingly assured small-scale film with a big-sized punch.
