Oct 19, 2018 · In total, Burke and Hare were charged with 16 counts of murder. Hare wound up turning King’s evidence and gaining full immunity from prosecution in exchange for a full confession and testifying against Burke. No one knows what happened to Hare after that but Burke was found guilty and hanged.
