  6. Georgs second marriage was childless. Georg died on 6 July 1963 in Sigmaringen aged 63. He was interred alongside his first wife in the family vault in Inzigkofen, Sigmaringen. Georgs elder son Georg Alexander succeeded as head of the House of Mecklenburg-Strelitz.
