White Zombie's first release, Gods on Voodoo Moon, was an EP and was recorded on October 18, 1985. It was released under the band's label Silent Explosion, where they would release most of their early work.
White Zombie. White Zombie was formed in 1985 by vocalist Rob Zombie (then known as Rob Straker), guitarist Paul "Ena" Kostabi, bassist Sean Yseult and drummer Peter Landau, who recorded the group's debut EP Gods on Voodoo Moon that October.
The main inspirations behind this stuff seem to be bands like Nick Cave's Birthday Party and The Cramps. If you like those bands, then this release is definitely worth checking out, even if you just want to hear where Rob Zombie started his career.
