Mar 19, 2013 · We recently updated the StarCraft II Game Guide—specifically, the Planets and Characters pages—with a selection of new places and faces. Several of these locations and personalities are new acquaintances, as they appear for the first time in StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm.
Resurgence of the Storm is a fan-created mod for StarCraft II. Resurgence is designed as a successor for Heroes of the Storm, which entered maintenance mode in 2022. It launched with 15 playable heroes, most of which are redesigned versions of their Heroes counterparts.

As part of the final hours leading up to the official release, Blizzard hosted official launch events in Seoul, Melbourne and Irvine in addition to the palace of Versailles just outside Paris - all with the help of famous players and casters.
