One of my favorite Looney Tunes short film Because it is a slice of cinema history , used in seductive manner, proposing nice references, giving the right traits of characters and preserving the nice irony and the spirit of the serie. So, just lovely. 2 out of 2 found this helpful.

Review by Tim Brayton Pro. Hollywood Steps Out 1941 ★★★★. Rewatched Nov 24 , 2023. With the possible exception of Disney's 1938 Mother Goose Goes Hollywood, this must be the definitive "nothing but celebrity caricatures" cartoon from the classical Hollywood era.

It’s extremely interesting what from this short did and did not stand the test of time. Because there’s literally nothing else to this short than a series of gags about the Golden Age of Hollywood, it basically comes down -like so many Avery shorts- to what jokes do and do not land.
