Passwords can be a liability. If anyone learns your password, they can access your account from anywhere without you noticing. A Yahoo account key is a security feature that Yahoo enabled for its email services to eliminate the need for a password.
Before you set up your Yahoo Account Key, you need to meet some requirements:
•Have access to a Yahoo email account (or create a Yahoo email account).
•An Android or iOS device.
•The Yahoo Mail app from the Google Play Store or the iOS App Store.
1.Download and launch the Yahoo Mail app.
2.Sign in to your Yahoo email account.
After setting up your Yahoo Account Key, it is time to use it.
1.Launch a web browser.
2.Navigate to https://yahoo.com.
3.Select Mail in the upper-right corner.
4.Enter your Yahoo email account and select Next.
5.Follow the prompt on your mobile device where you set up the Yahoo Account Key to allow or deny the sign-in request. Select Yes to proceed or No if you didn't attempt to access your Yahoo email account.
Remove your Yahoo account and set it up again in the Thunderbird email client. Go to Tools | Account Settings. Select your account in the list. Go to Account Actions at the bottom left. Click Remove Accounts. Click Add Accounts and type in the email address and password.
Make sure your app is set to download the full contents of your email for offline use. Keep a copy of your email in your account - If your app asks you if you want to "keep mail on the server" during setup, select "yes," or your email will be deleted from your account when it's downloaded.
