Ron raises a good point about replacement of parts. To clarify, I was referring to the replacement of parts at a large cost vs. replacement of defective parts for a nominal fee if the issue is not the user's fault.

If the work is simple, e.g a nib swap or adjustment, they're fairly quick at around 2-3 weeks turn around in my experience. Anything involving filling systems be prepared to wait, I've seen from 3-6 months. In general repair work is good.

  5. I've heard many stories about Visconti customer service and never anything good. As someone who sells pens for a living, I would never recommend anyone buying Visconti fountain pens. They're pretty, but the quality is just not there.

  6. FWIW, the best customer service I’ve ever received in the pen industry was from Waterman. Two week turnaround time, excellent communication and updates, no games with the fine prints of warranty, no flat fees under warranty and very professional at every stage.

  7. Nov 4, 2011 · It seems to be the same with other great Italian brand: Omas. They took forever to respond to a repair inquiry. After several messages they finally replied with insane estimates for a cap replacement, making it worth it almost getting a new pen and keeping the old one for parts.
