Rachel Chiesley married James Erskine, Lord Grange (PGL 236) in 1707, but the union was a disaster. She was embarrassing and notoriously aggressive, and they eventually split in 1730. Headstrong Rachel was unwilling to let him go and made his life extremely difficult, even threatening to expose him as a Jacobite.
