Jasper Tudor, Duke of Bedford (c. November 1431 – 21 December 1495) was the uncle of King Henry VII of England and a leading architect of his nephew's successful accession to the throne in 1485. He was a member of the Tudor family of Penmynydd .

Jasper Tudor, born c.1431, was the second son of the secret marriage between Katherine de Valois, widow of Henry V of England, and Owain Tudor, a member of her.
- Jasper was born out of a secret marriage. His mother had been the Queen of England, Katherine of Valois. After her husband (Henry V) died, she secretly married a member of her household, a Welshman called Owen Tudor, and bore him two sons – Edmund and Jasper.
- It was from this wardship that the future Henry VII would be born. Edmund married Lady Margaret, and got her pregnant right away. She had a son, Henry. Edmund died, but his brother, Jasper, would spend the rest of his life protecting his nephew from the civil wars known as the Wars of the Roses.
- Jasper was a bit like a 007 character. There was one time when a castle was being besieged that he snuck in to be able to fight. He once escaped another castle by dressing as a peasant and leaving in full daylight.
- He only married very late in life, after his nephew became King. There have been rumors of an alleged relationship with Lady Margaret (see the White Queen series, for example).
Jasper was at the heart of Henry’s government for the first few years, named as Privy Councillor, Lieutenant of Calais and titular Deputy of Ireland (a role held in reality by the Earl of Kildare).
Jasper Tudor sailed with the little army of Lancastrians from Harfleur on 1 Aug. 1485, and landed at Dale in Milford Haven on 7 Aug. He was of peculiar importance owing to his influence as earl of Pembroke.
Born in November of 1431, Jasper Tudor was the son of a queen and played one of the most intriguing behind-the-scenes roles in the Wars of the Roses … one that eventually led to the 30-plus year war's conclusion at the infamous Battle of Bosworth Field.
