Jerry Wald and His Orchestra. Actor: Little Miss Broadway. Swing outfit led by clarinettist Jerry Wald and launched at Child's Spanish Garden in New York City in 1941. Between 1942 and 1943, the band enjoyed a lengthy tenure at the Lincoln Hotel and at the Panther Room of the Hotel Sherman.

Jerry Wald And His Orchestra ABOUT. Jerry Wald (January 15, 1918 - ca. September, 1973) was a clarinetist and big band leader with a style often compared to that of Artie Shaw who became famous beginning in the early 1940s.
Wald and his orchestra made their first records in 1942, for Decca. They also recorded during the 1940s for, at different times, Majestic, Sonora, and Columbia. They appeared in one movie, "Little Miss Broadway" (a 1947 Columbia Pictures film, not the 1938 Shirley Temple 20th Century-Fox feature).
