Brambach wuchs in Dresden und in Ost-Berlin bei seiner Mutter, der Kostümbildnerin Heidi Brambach, und dem Regisseur Karlheinz Liefers auf. Mit zwölf Jahren erfuhr er, dass er nicht dessen leiblicher Sohn ist. [2]
