Olegs’s father died during the last week of July 1194; his death changed the order of seniority among the Olgovichi: his only brother, Yaroslav Vsevolodovich became the new senior prince of the dynasty, and Oleg and his brothers became answerable to their uncle.
When Sviatoslav died on February 15, 1164, Igor's older half-brother, Oleg Svyatoslavich, took over the control of Novgorod Severskiy and probably gave Putivl to Igor. Before 1170, Igor married a daughter of Prince Yaroslav Osmomysl .

Under the year 1204, a number of chronicles state that Oleg Svyatoslavich of Chernigov died, while others add that his son died with him. The chroniclers do not identify Oleg's successor at the time of his death, but later evidence confirms that his brother, Vsevolod replaced him.

Dec 30, 2018 · Oleg was a Rurikid ruler of the Derevlyans from 969 to his death in 976. He was the second son of Sviatoslav I of Kyiv. Date of birth is not known, but is probably before 957.
Under the year 1166, the chronicler reports that the daughter of Prince Andrey Yuryevich of Suzdalia, who had married Oleg, died. Circumstantial evidence shows that the Oleg in question was the son of Svyatoslav Vsevolodovich.
