Dec 1, 2023 · That’s just how close the association has become between CBS and the SEC. Most would be stunned to learn that song debuted as the intro to the Super Bowl XXI in 1987.
This song was the theme for college football on CBS well before the SEC played a game on the network. I remember it for Ohio State-Michigan in 1986, Army-Navy in the 80s and 90s, and also the Sun Bowls during that time period.
