Apr 15, 2024 · When house music swept Chicago in the mid-1980s, McMiller became a house dancer. “Dance was always there in my life,” he said. Currently Sekou is a faculty member at Marymount Manhattan College, The Ailey School, Joffrey Ballet School, Ballet Hispánico, Steps on Broadway and Broadway Dance Center. In addition, he is a Curator and Project Director at the National Jazz Museum in Harlem.
