  3. South Miami was one of the first Magnet Public Schools. In 1992, South Miami became a 'Middle School' and in 2002 the school received a new 'building' to assist with the student enrollment. Today, South Miami Middle School is proud to serve a diverse community offering eight specialized visual and performing arts magnet programs.
