    • 1. (1940–2021), US record producer and songwriter; full name Harvey Phillip Spector. He pioneered a “wall of sound” style, using echo and tape loops, and had a succession of hit recordings in the 1960s with groups such as the Ronettes and the Crystals. In 2009, he was convicted of murdering actress Lana Clarkson (1962–2003).
