Nov 14, 2014 · Again, that's not a spoiler since "Starry Eyes" is consistently focused on its heroine and her all-consuming insecurities. Widmyer and Kolsch are smart enough to know that, after a point, Sarah is responsible for her actions since she let her insecurity cloud her judgment.
When we watched Starry Eyes the year it came out, the first thing I said after we finished was “Jesus Christ, I think we just witnessed the origin story of a Cenobite.” That’s my head canon, and I stand by it today: Starry Eyes takes place in a small corner of the Hellraiser universe.
Because sometimes, the surprise “spoiler” ending is the only reason you’d pay $11 to see what is otherwise a turkey of a film.

Jan 22, 2015 · IMO, the main themes of Starry Eyes are ambition and self destruction. Our main character is an actress who has no limits to the depths she will drop to achieve stardom. Not in an obvious or offensively tactical way, but through a subtle path of eroding self esteem.
Aug 13, 2020 · Starry Eyes is a complex and bleak movie with one hell of a transformation scene that I think should go down in horror history. It’s not for everyone, but it’s one damn fucked up ride.
