The Lost Weekend is the fifteenth episode of The Cosby Show's fifth season which was first broadcast on February 2, 1989.
Cliff and Clair take a well-earned break from kids and chores, depositing Rudy at Grandma's, dropping Vanessa at a friend's house and heading for the Poconos. That leaves Theo alone in the house for the weekend. When his two friends hear about it, they plan a party. Although they only intend for the party to be a small, intimate affair for six guests (Theo, his two buddies, and a young lady for each of them), it quickly escalates, and soon, the party is an open house for hundreds of people, most of them strangers.
The house is soon trashed, and despite Theo's efforts to clean and fix the place up, some items are damaged beyond repair. Theo is left to face the wrath of Cliff, who wonders why there is "no place in America to get rid of your kid." After a failed attempt to force Theo into the US Army (as apparently so many other parents are there for similar reasons, that the recruiter finally dismisses all the parents who are there for said reasons), Cliff manages to force Theo to do community service in a missionary every morning before school.
Everyone has plans for the weekend: Cliff and Clair are traveling to the Poconos, Vanessa is staying with friends, and Rudy is staying with Russell and Anna. That leaves Theo home all alone. Well, not exactly: his buddies, Howard and Denny stop by.
