At the event, Vilsack highlighted the submarine’s enhanced features to accommodate women sailors.

This was the ceremonial ‘bottle of bubbly’ being broken over the hull of the boat by ship's sponsor Christie Vilsack. The Christening iwas a spectacular event and was well attended by over 3,000 friends of IOWA.
